Sainsbury Centre for Visual Arts

Foster Associates · Norwich, United Kingdom · 1978

A large lightweight enclosure brings art display, teaching and social space into one continuous interior. Building services are contained within the double-layered envelope, leaving the exhibition floor comparatively open. The Sainsbury Centre is an early demonstration of Foster's interest in flexible planning and the expressive potential of industrial construction.
