30 St Mary Axe (The Gherkin)

A rounded office tower with a diagonal structural grid, 30 St Mary Axe rethinks the conventional rectangular skyscraper. Its narrowing profile reduces its apparent bulk at street level, while spiralling atria bring light into the office floors. The building was completed in 2003 and opened in 2004.
