American Air Museum, Duxford

Foster + Partners · Duxford, United Kingdom · 1997

A broad concrete vault encloses aircraft beneath a largely uninterrupted roof span. The glazed face opens towards the airfield, linking the exhibits to the landscape of flight. Foster's design combines a restrained external profile with a dramatic interior, where aircraft can be suspended from the roof structure.
