Villa Fiorentino

Unknown · Sorrento, Italy · 1936

Villa Fiorentino is an early twentieth-century villa in the center of Sorrento, set within a generous garden between Corso Italia and the ancient walls. Built for Antonino Fiorentino and Lucia Cuomo, the house reflects the aspirations of a prosperous local family connected to Sorrento’s textile tradition. Its architectural character is domestic and representative at once, combining villa living, garden frontage, and a stylistic language influenced by colonial and eclectic references. Today it operates as a cultural venue under the Fondazione Sorrento, hosting exhibitions and events. For ArchiAtlas, it is useful as a bridge between Sorrento’s medieval fabric and its modern civic-cultural reuse of historic residences.
