Villa Empain

Michel Polak · Brussels, Belgium · 1934

Michel Polak designed this residence with a disciplined geometry, polished stone and finely detailed metalwork. Its Art Deco composition extends from the formal exterior to the interior surfaces, while its later cultural use allows the building to be experienced beyond its original domestic program. Visiting: Exhibitions by the Boghossian Foundation are ticketed; the Art Deco facade on Avenue Franklin Roosevelt can be seen freely.
