Triple Bridge
Jože Plečnik; Giovanni Picco (earlier bridge) · Ljubljana, Slovenia · 1932
Plečnik added two pedestrian bridges beside an earlier crossing, transforming a transport bottleneck into a distinctive public space. The three-part composition, balustrades and approaches connect the river with the surrounding squares, making the bridges an integral part of central Ljubljana’s urban life. Visiting: Free and always open; Plečnik's three bridges link Prešeren Square with the old town.
