Nabemba Tower

Unknown · Brazzaville, Republic of the Congo · 1986

Nabemba Tower is the dominant high-rise landmark of central Brazzaville. Its narrow reinforced-concrete shaft expands into a broader faceted upper volume, creating a distinctive profile above the otherwise lower urban fabric. Built during a period of ambitious state development in the 1980s, the tower contains offices and became closely associated with the skyline of the Congolese capital. Its significance lies less in stylistic refinement than in the scale and structural ambition of a singular vertical project within a city shaped primarily by lower civic and commercial buildings.
