Torres del Parque
Rogelio Salmona · Bogotá, Colombia · 1970
Rogelio Salmona’s three curving brick towers are shaped around Bogotá’s Plaza de Toros and Parque de la Independencia rather than treated as isolated residential slabs. Stepped profiles, terraces and pedestrian routes establish visual relationships between apartments, the Andes and surrounding public space. The project helped establish Salmona’s characteristic use of brick, ramps and landscape as instruments of urban continuity. Torres del Parque remains a landmark of Colombian housing and one of Bogotá’s most distinctive modern ensembles.
