Torre Glòries marks the meeting of Barcelona's Diagonal and the redeveloped industrial district of Poblenou. Jean Nouvel and b720 Fermín Vázquez designed the rounded tower with a layered façade of coloured surfaces and external glass elements. Completed in 2005, it shifts in appearance with distance, weather and changing light. The former Torre Agbar also provides a useful counterpoint to the angular Disseny Hub nearby. For visitors, the tower's observation experience offers a way to connect the building's singular form with Barcelona's broader street grid and metropolitan landscape.
