Tbilisi Public Service Hall

Studio Fuksas / Massimiliano and Doriana Fuksas · Tbilisi, Georgia · 2012

Tbilisi Public Service Hall gathers multiple government services beneath a field of large petal-like roof canopies along the Mtkvari River. Studio Fuksas separates the office and public program into distinct volumes while the overlapping roofs create a shared architectural identity visible from across the city. Inside, a large service hall supports a one-stop administrative model rather than traditional departmental buildings. Opened in 2012, the project is a prominent expression of Georgia’s post-Soviet investment in highly visible new civic architecture and in public buildings intended to signal institutional transparency and modernization.
