Sultan Mosque

Denis Santry; Swan & Maclaren · Singapore, Singapore · 1928

Sultan Mosque is a major religious landmark in Singapore's Kampong Glam district. Its golden domes, layered arches and richly articulated entrances give the building a strong presence within the surrounding low-rise streets. The contrast between the large prayer volume and the close scale of the neighbourhood is central to its urban character. Visiting: A religious site. Basic access is normally free, with local worship, dress and photography restrictions; additional visitor attractions can be charged.
