Sultan Abdul Samad Building
A. C. Norman; R. A. J. Bidwell; A. B. Hubback · Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia · 1897
The Sultan Abdul Samad Building gives Kuala Lumpur's historic civic centre a distinctive architectural edge. Arches, domed towers and a central clock tower animate its long façade. The composition combines administrative functions with a highly visible ceremonial presence facing the open space of Merdeka Square. Visiting: Best seen from Merdeka Square across the road, especially when lit at night. The building houses government offices and is not regularly open.
