San Agustin Church, Manila

Juan Macías · Manila, Philippines · 1607

San Agustin Church brings a long-lived stone church into the dense historic fabric of Intramuros. Its restrained exterior gives way to a more elaborate interior, where vaults, painted surfaces and furnishings shape the experience of the nave. The adjoining monastic spaces extend the architectural visit beyond the principal worship hall. Visiting: Church worship and the adjoining museum have different admission arrangements. The museum is a separate visitor experience.
