Saigon Central Post Office

Alfred Foulhoux · Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam · 1891

Saigon Central Post Office combines a richly articulated street façade with a large, vaulted public interior. The working postal programme keeps the hall connected to everyday activity. Its architecture is especially legible through the transition from the busy square outside to the long central space, structural rhythm and detailed surfaces within. Visiting: Public exterior and ordinary circulation areas can be viewed without a visitor ticket. Journeys and controlled platforms have separate ticket requirements.
