Rajabai Clock Tower

George Gilbert Scott · Mumbai, India · 1878

Rajabai Clock Tower gives the University of Mumbai's historic campus a prominent vertical landmark. George Gilbert Scott's design combines a strongly articulated Gothic composition with Venetian references. The tower is best appreciated in relation to the adjoining university buildings and the open ground of Oval Maidan, which allows its skyline presence to be read clearly. Visiting: Working educational campus. Exterior viewing does not grant access to classrooms or residences; seek permission before entering controlled areas.
