People's Park Complex

People's Park Complex combines a large commercial podium with a tall residential slab. Its forceful concrete massing belongs to the early period of Singapore's intensive urban redevelopment. The contrast between busy internal shopping spaces, the housing above and the surrounding streets makes the complex a significant study of mixed-use architecture at metropolitan scale. Visiting: A working mall and housing slab in Chinatown; the shopping atrium is free to walk through.
