Palazzetto dello Sport

Annibale Vitellozzi; Pier Luigi Nervi · Rome, Italy · 1957

The small Olympic arena is one of Pier Luigi Nervi's most legible demonstrations of ferrocement and prefabricated structural ribs. A thin circular dome appears to hover above angled Y-shaped supports, making the load path visually understandable from both inside and outside.
