Pakistan Monument

Arif Masoud · Islamabad, Pakistan · 2007

The Pakistan Monument uses large curving petal-like forms to create a national memorial above Islamabad. The main elements converge around a shared central space, combining sculptural mass with an accessible ceremonial setting. Its elevated position allows the monument to be read both as a close spatial experience and as a landmark within the capital's landscape. Visiting: Entry is ticketed; the petal-shaped monument is visible from much of Islamabad.
