Noma 2.0

Bjarke Ingels Group (BIG) · Copenhagen, Denmark · 2018

Noma 2.0 is BIG’s architectural setting for one of Copenhagen’s most influential restaurants. Rather than designing a single monumental dining room, the project is composed as a village of small pavilions, gardens, greenhouses, kitchens, and service spaces organized around a working landscape. The architecture supports the restaurant’s focus on seasonality, craft, and Nordic ecology by making production, preparation, and dining feel closely connected to the site. Materials are warm, tactile, and intentionally restrained, allowing landscape and food culture to remain central. For architectural visitors, Noma 2.0 is valuable as a hospitality project that treats eating not as an interior event, but as an ecosystem of buildings, gardens, and rituals.
