National Museum of Vietnamese History
Ernest Hébrard; Charles Batteur · Hanoi, Vietnam · 1932
The historic museum building in Hanoi combines a modern museum programme with an architectural vocabulary adapted to the regional climate. Roof forms, shaded openings and carefully organized galleries connect French institutional planning with local references. Its later role within the National Museum of History preserves an important example of Indochinese architectural design. Visiting: Entry is ticketed; the Indochine facade can be seen freely from Trang Tien Street.
