Napier Museum
Robert Chisholm · Thiruvananthapuram, India · 1880
The Napier Museum combines polychrome surfaces, steep roofs, towers and deep verandahs in a design adapted to Kerala's climate. Robert Chisholm brought regional references into an elaborate nineteenth-century museum building. Its position within landscaped grounds allows the lively external composition to be read from multiple approaches. Visiting: A small entry fee applies; the building stands in the free public gardens of the museum and zoo complex.
