Museo de Arte de Ponce
Edward Durell Stone · Ponce, Puerto Rico · 1965
Edward Durell Stone organized the museum around a distinctive pattern of gallery spaces, light and landscaped courts. The modern building gives the collection a purpose-built setting rather than adapting a historic residence, making the architecture an important part of the institution’s identity. Visiting: The museum is ticketed; the exterior with its hexagonal galleries can be seen freely. The main Edward Durell Stone galleries are closed for reconstruction. The operator targets reopening in 2028. Check any separate Annex program and permissible exterior viewing with the museum.
