Matsumoto Performing Arts Centre

Toyo Ito & Associates · Matsumoto, Japan · 2004

Toyo Ito wraps the theatre in a softly curving skin punctured by hundreds of irregular glass insets. The public foyer becomes a fluid internal street, while the sequence of halls, ramps and filtered daylight gives a large performance complex an unexpectedly porous relationship with central Matsumoto.
