Matrimandir

Matrimandir places a golden spherical volume within Auroville's central gardens. Designed by Roger Anger from the spiritual vision of Mirra Alfassa, the building makes light, geometry and a carefully controlled interior atmosphere central to its purpose. The surrounding landscape and deliberate approach are integral to understanding the project. Visiting: The viewing-point visit and inner-chamber meditation have different booking arrangements. Consult Auroville before travelling; admission is not an unrestricted walk-in experience.
