Marsk Tower
Bjarke Ingels Group (BIG) · Skærbæk, Denmark · 2021
Marsk Tower is an observation tower in the marshland landscape near Skærbæk in southern Denmark. Its spiral stair wraps around a slender structure, creating a continuous ascent toward panoramic views of the Wadden Sea region. The tower is simple in program but powerful as an object in the open landscape: it acts as a marker, a viewing device, and a physical experience of climbing. The project shows how BIG’s interest in spirals and continuous movement can operate at a small infrastructural scale. For visitors, Marsk Tower offers a clear architectural sequence: approach through the flat landscape, ascend through the exposed stair, and reach a broad horizon view.
