Manifattura Tabacchi Firenze

State Monopolies technical office; Pier Luigi Nervi (structural contribution) · Florence, Italy · 1940

The former tobacco factory is a large rationalist industrial campus of repeated brick, concrete and steel buildings now being transformed into a mixed cultural and creative district. Its value lies both in the disciplined original production architecture and in the ongoing reuse strategy that preserves much of the industrial grain rather than replacing it.
