Manchester Town Hall

Alfred Waterhouse · Manchester, United Kingdom · 1877

Waterhouse's Gothic Revival town hall organises civic rooms around a triangular site and a tall clock tower. Richly detailed stonework and the Great Hall express the city's nineteenth-century municipal ambition. As of October 2026, the building remains closed during the Our Town Hall restoration programme, with reopening planned for 2027.
