O'Donnell and Tuomey arrange the theatre around its sloping riverside site, using brick walls and carefully shaped circulation spaces. Foyers and gathering areas connect performance to the everyday life of the building. The project gives a cultural institution a strong local material presence without relying on a single iconic facade.
