Lunuganga

Geoffrey Bawa · Bentota, Sri Lanka

Lunuganga is the landscape and estate that Geoffrey Bawa developed over decades near Bentota. Buildings, terraces, planted frames and views towards the lake form a continuous architectural composition. The project is experienced through movement and changing outlooks, with relatively small interventions shaping how the wider landscape is perceived. Visiting: The garden is visited through scheduled ticketed tours. It is not an unrestricted public park; consult the Trust for the current programme.
