Jubilee Church

Richard Meier & Partners · Rome, Italy · 2003

Three curving precast-concrete shells form the primary spatial and symbolic gesture of this suburban church built for Rome's Jubilee program. The sails filter daylight into a bright, asymmetrical nave and demonstrate Meier's attempt to make a highly abstract modern church from mass, light and carefully engineered concrete.
