Jockey Club Innovation Tower

Zaha Hadid Architects · Hong Kong, Hong Kong · 2014

The Jockey Club Innovation Tower brings several design disciplines together in a highly fluid academic building at Hong Kong Polytechnic University. Zaha Hadid Architects shape classrooms, studios and circulation as a sequence of overlapping internal and external surfaces rather than conventional stacked floors. Long stairs and voids encourage visual connection between departments, while the narrow site generates a tall sculptural profile along the campus edge. Completed in 2014, the tower is an important example of Hadid’s institutional work and of architecture being used to promote interdisciplinary interaction within a design school.
