Iset Hotel

Ivan Antonov + Veniamin Sokolov + Arseny Tumbasov · Yekaterinburg, Russia · 1933

Iset Hotel forms part of the famous Chekists Town complex and is one of Yekaterinburg’s most recognizable constructivist buildings. Its curved high-rise profile follows a semicircular plan, creating a strong urban marker at the edge of the residential ensemble. The building originally served as accommodation linked to the security-service residential district and later operated as a hotel. Completed in 1933, Iset demonstrates the constructivist interest in collective urban programs and sculptural functional form, while its unusual geometry has made it a persistent symbol of the city’s avant-garde heritage.
