IMAX Eilat

Haim Dotan · Eilat, Israel · 2004

IMAX Eilat was a large-format cinema and entertainment venue designed by architect Haim Dotan and opened in 2004. Its blue pyramidal form became a conspicuous landmark in Eilat and housed an IMAX theatre behind the glazed entrance volume. The venue ceased operating in 2015 and stood unused for several years. Demolition of the building began in 2022, ending the life of one of the city’s most recognizable early-2000s entertainment structures.
