Hyugashi Station

Hiroshi Naito's elevated station is dominated by a finely assembled timber roof whose repetitive members give a small regional interchange the dignity of a civic hall. The project became part of a broader urban renewal strategy and is a particularly clear example of Naito's structural use of local wood.
