Hundertwasserhaus
Friedensreich Hundertwasser; Josef Krawina · Vienna, Austria · 1985
Hundertwasser and his architectural collaborators challenged the uniformity of conventional apartment blocks through irregular surfaces, varied colors and planted terraces. The residential building makes individual windows, uneven lines and vegetation central to its identity within an otherwise regular city fabric. Visiting: Council flats, not open inside. Best seen from the corner of Kegelgasse and Löwengasse; the Hundertwasser Village shopping arcade across the street is free to enter.
