Guangzhou Library groups reading and cultural spaces within a large, carefully articulated civic building. Nikken Sekkei's design creates a strong relationship between the external composition and the internal organization of public circulation. The library forms part of a concentrated group of major cultural buildings around the city's newer civic landscape. Visiting: General public areas have no standard admission charge; special exhibitions, performances and booking requirements can differ.
