Gran Torre Costanera

Pelli Clarke Pelli Architects; Alemparte Barreda y Asociados · Santiago, Chile · 2014

Gran Torre Costanera gives Santiago a conspicuous vertical landmark within the mixed-use Costanera Center development. Designed by César Pelli's practice with local collaborators, the project uses a tall glazed office body and a narrowing upper silhouette to establish its metropolitan presence. The architects date the project to 2014, while public observation access opened later. A visit to the Sky Costanera deck connects the building's scale with views of the city and surrounding mountains; the office floors remain a separate private workplace. Visiting: The Sky Costanera observation deck is ticketed. Office floors are restricted. The date refers to the architectural project rather than the later opening of the observation deck.
