Golden Mile Complex

Design Partnership; Gan Eng Oon; William Lim; Tay Kheng Soon · Singapore, Singapore · 1973

Golden Mile Complex is a major example of Singapore's post-independence experiments with high-density mixed-use development. Its stepped section gives apartments terraces above a broad commercial base. The building makes its internal layering visible from outside, combining a strong concrete form with the ambition to concentrate urban life within one large structure. Visiting: Exterior architectural stop. Conservation/redevelopment can restrict access; current interior availability has not been confirmed.
