Gol Gumbaz

Gol Gumbaz is dominated by an immense dome over a square mausoleum chamber. Corner towers frame the central volume and provide access to upper levels. The building's extraordinary interior scale, heavy masonry and acoustics make it a striking example of the structural ambitions of the Adil Shahi court at Vijayapura. Visiting: Entry is ticketed, with higher rates for foreign visitors. The whispering gallery under the dome is part of the visit.
