Gedung Sate

J. Gerber · Bandung, Indonesia · 1924

Gedung Sate gives Bandung's provincial administration a distinctive composition of broad wings, a central entrance and a layered roof. Its design combines modern institutional planning with regional architectural references. The building's landscaped setting and long front elevation make its scale and symmetry especially apparent from the surrounding public realm. Visiting: The West Java governor's office. The front lawn is public, and the Gedung Sate Museum in the building opens to visitors.
