Fukui Prefectural Dinosaur Museum

Kisho Kurokawa · Katsuyama, Japan · 2000

Kisho Kurokawa embeds much of the museum into a hillside and marks it with a large polished dome that reads as both futuristic object and geological form. A long escalator descends visitors into the exhibition sequence, turning the building itself into a controlled journey through layers of time.
