Frank Gehry’s building for the UTS Business School is defined by two sharply contrasting façades: a highly articulated hand-laid brick elevation toward the city and a more reflective glazed face toward the campus. Internally, irregular teaching rooms and circulation spaces are organized around large communal areas and sculptural stairs. The project uses brick as a contemporary crafted material rather than nostalgic cladding, with thousands of specially shaped units creating the folded outer surface. Opened in 2015, it is Gehry’s first completed building in Australia.
