Corviale is a roughly one-kilometre-long social-housing megastructure conceived as a piece of city compressed into a single building. Its repetitive concrete section, collective circulation decks and controversial fourth-floor service zone make it one of Italy's most ambitious—and contested—late-modern housing experiments; current rehabilitation has begun to rework the long-abandoned communal level.
