Chulalongkorn University Centenary Park
LANDPROCESS / Kotchakorn Voraakhom · Bangkok, Thailand · 2017
Chulalongkorn University Centenary Park is both public landscape and water-management infrastructure. LANDPROCESS tilted the eleven-acre site so that rainwater moves through planted wetlands, lawns and retention areas toward a holding pond, slowing runoff in a flood-prone district. A green roof and museum-like structure at the high end extend the park's surface and frame long views across the site. Paths and outdoor rooms support everyday recreation while making hydrological performance visible. The project demonstrates how dense Bangkok can add civic space and climate resilience simultaneously, using topography and planting rather than treating drainage as hidden engineering. Its architectural significance lies in the integration of landscape, public program and urban adaptation.
