Reid and Green designed a prominent civic building with a clock tower and carefully articulated stone facades. Its frontage onto the Grand Parade connects the ceremonial interior with one of Cape Town’s major public spaces, while later restoration has supported continued cultural use. Visiting: Faces the Grand Parade, where Nelson Mandela spoke from the balcony in 1990. The interior opens for concerts and events.
