Canadian Museum for Human Rights

Antoine Predock · Winnipeg, Canada · 2014

Antoine Predock’s Canadian Museum for Human Rights rises from heavy stone-clad lower volumes into a complex assembly of glass forms culminating in the Tower of Hope. Interior ramps move gradually upward through exhibition spaces, using changing light and material to give the visitor route a symbolic vertical progression. The building occupies a prominent site at The Forks where the Red and Assiniboine rivers meet. Opened in 2014, it is one of Canada’s most ambitious recent national museums and a major Winnipeg landmark.
