Blues Point Tower

Harry Seidler · Sydney, Australia · 1962

Blues Point Tower is one of Harry Seidler’s most visible experiments in high-rise housing. The tall residential slab rises from a prominent harbour-edge site with a gridded façade of balconies and windows that makes the building legible at city scale. Seidler intended the tower as part of a much larger redevelopment scheme that was never realized, leaving it as a solitary modern object within a predominantly lower neighbourhood. Completed in 1962, it remains both a controversial skyline presence and an important milestone in Sydney’s post-war apartment architecture.
