Bibliotheca Hertziana – New Library
Juan Navarro Baldeweg · Rome, Italy · 2012
Juan Navarro Baldeweg inserts a contemporary research library behind protected historic street facades near the Spanish Steps. A deep glazed light court organizes stacked reading terraces, bringing daylight down through a dense urban site while leaving the exterior sequence of historic palazzi largely intact.
