Bait Ur Rouf Mosque

Marina Tabassum · Dhaka, Bangladesh · 2012

Marina Tabassum's Bait Ur Rouf Mosque uses brick, filtered light and a carefully adjusted prayer hall to create a distinctive sacred interior. Openings and ventilation are integrated with the building's geometry rather than added as decorative features. The project connects a contemporary architectural language with the material and climatic conditions of Dhaka. Visiting: A religious site. Basic access is normally free, with local worship, dress and photography restrictions; additional visitor attractions can be charged.
