Avala Tower

Uglješa Bogunović; Slobodan Janjić · Belgrade, Serbia · 2009

The reconstructed telecommunications tower preserves the distinctive profile of the earlier structure on Mount Avala. Its elevated observation level combines technical infrastructure with a visitor destination, while the wooded setting gives the tower a different relationship to Belgrade than a city-center high-rise. Visiting: The observation deck is ticketed; the tower and the forested Avala hill around it are free to visit. Located on Mount Avala outside the central city. Plan the public-transport/road approach separately; tower-deck access has its own ticket conditions.
